Create Everything
Tony Hawk’s Underground opens up customization. Change your outfits, skin color, and board that you’ll play as throughout the game. There are even outfits such as an Alien, Skeleton, and Pimp Daddy. Create custom skate parks with goals for you and local friends to play together. Create a trick that can be one of your special tricks. You can even create a custom deck with logos from actual skating brands.
Tell your Story
This is the first Tony Hawk game that has a story. Complete missions by driving, completing tricks, and competing in tournaments. After completing enough missions, you can progress to the next chapter in the story. Chapters take you to places around the world as you become a Pro skater with your friend Eric.
Mingle with the Pros
Throughout the game, you can learn special tricks from actual Pro Skaters. Learn the Flamingo from Chad Muska and the McTwist from Tony Hawk. Even team up with them to create some epic promo videos and show who is the real up and coming Pro skater.
Explore, not just Play
Each level you visit is an open playground. Mingle with the locals to start missions. Skate and walk throughout the areas as you increase your stats. No time limits in exploration means every level is your training grounds to be the best.
Skating to the end
Tony Hawk’s Underground is a treasure. If you have it, play it. If you don’t, try and find it. This is the greatest Tony Hawk game and I would love to see a remake of some kind with this idea in mind. The final score I can give this is a 9/10.
