The Pokémon Company did a surprise announcement that they are going to present more news regarding The Crown Tundra so let’s discuss!
The Galarian Star Tournament
This was first talked about in the last DLC announcement. A tournament where you go up against and team up with the greatest trainers in Galar. As of now, I am not sure if the Gym Leader exclusives in their respective games apply here, but we will see when the DLC comes out! This looks like it’ll be a fun side thing to do after finishing the Crown Tundra.
The Ability Patch
This was not in the actual trailer, but I found it on Pokémon’s website. It is a way for any Pokémon you have to learn their hidden ability (if they have one). So, this just made competitive play even more obtainable with this new item. It must be really hard to obtain though!
Fight returning Legendary Pokémon
GameFreak, thank you. Thank you for giving us a CHALLENGE to obtain the legendary Pokémon. This addition makes it feel like the legendaries are worth catching instead of being handed out like how it is done in ORAS and Sun/Moon. There are 56 legendaries in this game (YES 56!!!) and excluding the new ones, we have 46 legendaries to capture!
The big thing that was shown off in previous trailers, explore the caves underneath the Dynamax Dens that were previously unexplorable. According to the site, we will have rental Pokémon instead of our own and have the option to catch the Dynamax Pokémon that reside. This is a new twist on the Dens and again, adds more to the overall experience.
The new Forms with The Crown Tundra
Starting things off, we finally have Gmax Melmetal joining the ranks of obtainable Pokémon. In order to get this Gmax form, you just have to transfer a Pokémon from Go to Home and collect it in the Mystery Box (Simple!)
Next up, is Galarian Slowking. It looks like it was taken over by Shellder and it looks so creepy in the coolest way! It’s signature move Eerie Spell deals damage AND reduces the PP of the last move used by 3.
Get in the Game
Have you looked at this post and thought, this looks awesome? Well, Pokémon just announced a bundle set of Sword or Shield with the Expansion Pass as one combined set coming out November 6, two weeks after Crown Tundra does come out so be prepared for my review on the DLC!
If you want more, check out my discussion/reaction down below!
The Crown Tundra Expansion Pass will be available on October 22.
