Mafia 3: A Tale Of Rising Through The Ranks, Leadership, Avengement & Discrimination.
Those phrases I’ve chosen for the header sums up the magnificence of a game called Mafia 3.
This is a game that excels in many ways and is staggering to me personally that not many people are talking about Mafia 3 and conjuring up their own wishlists and other lists/reasons as to why we need a fourth installment to the Mafia series. Now the majority of the game’s features are covered in the video embedded above (which was released a year ago), so for more in-depth analysis and straight up the gameplay of Mafia 3 please check out the video above.
The Game Itself.
You play as Lincoln Clay, recently discharged from the military fighting a violent war nationally is now forced to participate in an equally violent war domestically. I shall not fully spoil the beginnings of the game for you here but i shall say that it starts off strong and instantly grabs your full attention and demands that you avenge someone close to your heart (spoiler). The gameplay is solid (not fully smooth like other open world’s but I’d say it holds up very well), the environment is so full of life and captures the harsh reality of the daily struggles that African Americans had to deal with, forcing the narrative on how cruel humans can be and how far we (as a society & culturally) have grown and adapted to become a more open and accepting world to live in.
In a nutshell, this game is fantastic, not perfect (nothing is).
But it’s a PERFECT step for a series of the last generation to take into this generation, seriously it is.
